Day 03: Wet 'n Wild

And on the third day he rested

(Note: posted yesterdays blog under the wrong URL, doh - fixed now!)

Sooo not much going down today so should be a short one, fingers crossed. Also didn’t take my camera out so you’ll have to do with Instagram-esque photos from my iPhone.

In no great rush today, so got up a little later, though up before all the kids so maybe not that late. Started off with a nice healthy veg omelette at IHOP. I’m kidding myself on I know, even joked about going to the hotel gym, though after tonight's dinner maybe Ill have to.

Wet ‘n Wildlings

Wet 'n Wild - a water park within 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. No buses today! Sorted. Got in and settled for midday, was quite busy so took us some time to find a place to camp. Ended up forking out extra for some shaded loungers which were enclosed in a big sand pit. Sand really gets everywhere, doesnt it? :| Kids experienced a wave pool for the first time and they had great fun with numerous water fountains, cannons and slides in a newly designed section just for small people. It looked great and I had good fun chasing them around it. Grace loved the water but then again she also loved the sand and I think we came home with enough to build our own sandpit.

The parentals took the kids for a while too so was able to just kick back and do nothing - bonus. You just get lost in your own world staring up at the clouds and seeing shapes in the sky: a tiger which also kinda looks a bit like an elephant, y'know the sort of thing. You think of everything and nothing all at once and get lost in a sea of hopes and dreams.

Deep, man.

The views were pretty cracking… and the park looked not too bad either ;) Went up to get some beers at one point and the barmaid gave me some lame excuse that I could only order one and the other person would need to be present (I think it was just a polite way of her saying that she didnt think I was old enough :P ). Spend a little time discussing the plans for the rest of the time here, and rearranged our itinerary a little to accommodate my dads obsession with American shopping malls. We all got a bit toasted today though, so headed home relatively early to get changed for dinner.

Buffet

Hadnt really eaten anything since breakfast so headed off to the Golden Corral for a Buffet Dinner. So. Much. Food. I had something that looked a bit like this: Salad - Pasta - Rice - Chicken - Steak - Chicken. Grace on the other hand went for the Chips - Pasta - Candy Floss - Chocolate Covered Strawberries - Patricks Candy Floss - Chocolate Covered Strawberries - Roberts Candyfloss and finished off with a Chocolate Covered Strawberry. Dontcha just love children when they get hyped up on sugar??? ;)

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K

Bought some beers at the Circle K on our way home! :D Was going to introduce myself with 'Greeting my most excellent friends’ to the shop but it probably wouldnt have went down too well with my dodgy Scottish accent that no one here understands… :)

There, that was pretty short eh? Maybe not so short tomorrow for Islands of Adventure but need to go get my camera charged and get to bed at a reasonable hour. Night.
