Day 13: The Magic Kingdom

Last day and we’re finishing as we began at The Magic Kingdom!

Started off with me running ahead… (oh aye we got a taxi there, so much easier), yeah so ran ahead to Fast Pass the rides we didn’t manage last time starting with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland. Managed to persuade Patrick into this one and in doing so got his buy-in for Splash Mountain and Space Mountain as well! Must have been something to do with me mentioning that he could tell a certain lady friend in his class of how brave he was ;) This was one of the rides we played on the Kinect prior to coming so he knew what to kinda expect anyway. Was a nice little roller coaster - nothing too thrilling - so just right to ease Patrick in. He thought it was great too :) 7/10

The next mountain was the water one and this time we got Patrick to the front - in for a penny… Again he loved it and was probably beginning to wonder what all the fuss was about!

This visit we used the Fast Passes more efficiently and it was less busy so didnt really have to wait long on any of the rides. We got in Jungle Cruise, The Enchanted Tales Of Belle, Mickeys Philharmagic, Stitch’s Great Escape and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin between Big Thunder, Splash and Space Mountain.

Enchanted Tales was a superb interactive take on the story of Belle and The Beast with some amazing effects and Grace got to meet Belle afterwards - she couldn’t keep her eyes off her (and me either ;P). 8/10

Mickeys Philharmagic was the pick of the bunch though, a 4D cinematic experience starring Mickey, Goofy and Donald through some classic Disney tunes - nearly had me singing along :) 9/10.

Little disappointed with the Stitch attraction though - built around the old Alien Encounter (which was creepy), it didn’t quite have the same punch and even though I love Stitch it could have delivered a lot more. 5/10.

So Space Mountain, only Ann, Robert, Patrick and me undertook this one (my dad has nightmares about the previous time he was on it). It was a bit bumpy and jerky but all in all pretty good. Robert was a little dizzy after it but Patrick loved it, so me and him went on it again using some leftover fast passes. 8/10.

We had planned to hang on to the park until 10pm for the fireworks but my dad was pretty exhausted and we did fit in everything we missed on the first time around (even fitting in the parade again), so made the decision to head off early and have our last evening meal together a little closer to home.

See she’s looking at me too - during the parade where there are a thousand other people - I’m special ;)

Patrick got a wee bit upset when we were leaving the park - and it was quite sad and emotional as it marked the end of a wonderful two weeks. But I asked Walt to keep the music playing and the popcorn popping until we return.

See ya pals x
