Daytona Beach (Day 13)

Wee short update for today so no summary needed. Slept in this morning so we hurriedly got up and headed off to breakfast at the hotel. Patrick was still really tired and kept falling asleep at the table… Oops. Our server this morning reminded me of Consuela from Family guy server and I was ready to give her an extra tip on that reason but she only filled up my cup once so no…
Look, I ordered coffee, alright? And we been here a long fucking time and she’s only filled my cup three times. When I order coffee I want it filled six times.
Daytonaaaaa… Daytona Beach!
Due to the proximity we settled for Daytona Beach over Clearwater, with Thunderstorms due to hit around mid afternoon we would have a good couple of hours on the beach. Daytona Beach always reminds me of the driving arcade game years ago which was one of the first of those games with amazing graphics - something which is now standard on most phones :) The beach was about an hour or so away and it was pretty much a straight road. Once we got there, we drove and parked right on the beach - it was awesome!
Quickly got ready and hit the water (or the pool as the kids kept calling it). It was coooold! The boys loved it and stayed in the water most of the day (they were even reluctant to come out to get slushes). They met a wee boy and we’re playing with him too, which was cool. Robert was really chatty and introduced both him and Patrick :) Gracie just loved playing is the shallows and the sand on her own. Left about 3PM and just in time, as 5 minutes after we left the beach the thunder started - awesome timing :)

Home, showered and changed though I think we brought half the beach back with us. Headed just across the road to the Pointe to Fat Fish Blue, a restaurant we visited last time we were here two years ago. We sat at the same table and I went for the tacos (again) and the waitress Adriana was really chatty and friendly. Good food, then went for a walk and ice creams for the kids, then home relatively early.
Shopping with some fireworks at Magic Kingdom tomorrow in the run up to Independence Day, so probably not much to report back on tomorrow. Night :) x
