Day 05 - Shopping

Ah, our first "rest" day so theres no summary as it’s not going to be a big update today.
Woke the kids up as per and got ready to go out for breakfast. I’ve been wanting to try out Denny’s since we got here so today was the perfect opportunity!
Sat down within two minutes and already had coffee poured, good start Ana, good start. So many options, but went with The Grand Slamwich, a Grand Slam breakfast in a sandwich really, it was between that and the classic Moons Over My Hammy, which Patrick got so we did half and half. Pretty decent and loads of it. Grace got a mammoth cooked breakfast, though she wasnt impressed by the Hash Browns, but the Hash Browns are actually amazing. Ann & Robert both opted for Berries over French Toast, which tasted like a dessert, and not something I would usually go for, but it tasted sooo good. A short walk before we picked up Pauline and Kev and headed to the Premium Outlets for some retail therapy.
I convinced myself I wasnt going to buy anything today and just look to see what was on offer but walked out of Gap - the first shop we were in - with two hoodies, two t-shirts and shorts. Oops. After that, I didnt need anything. And then I went in to Under Armor… yeah I shouldnt really be allowed to tell my future self what to do. Four Project Rock tees and a pair of shorts later, I was done, I was pretty sure. I didnt go into the Nike shop just in case though. Everyone else done really well too, Ann got some UA stuff too, Patrick got a jacket and Robert and Grace some Converse (Graces Converse, a limited edition Dungeons and Dragons pair, which looked amazing). Its good when the kids have their own spending money and have to make decisions to spend said money on themselves, a real relief for the Bank Of Mum & Dad that. I had heard that the prices for a lot of things had went up and we have seen that on occasion, maybe in some shops or restaurants, but today you really cant say no to good quality sports gear with 60% off. Pauline, Kevin and the girls went off on their own and got some good bargains too. We still to hit some game shops, both computer and of the tabletop variety (I like to humour myself), and pay a visit to Colosseum of Comics, but think we had spent enough for the day.
Quick freshen up back at the hotel and all of us set off for Disney Springs to look around and grab some dinner. After some meandering through the different streets (and popping into to the Star Wars Shop to try out the lightsabers ) we agreed we would try Raglan Road, an Irish pub with live music and entertainment. Also did authentic pub food and GUINNESS! It was choc and bloc, but by change we arrived just in time to secure the last free table for the nine of us just in front of the live band on the patio outside! Result. We ordered our food and Guinness (which wasnt in a full pint glass, booo) and fired some song requests to the Irish band, who happily obliged. Great atmosphere and the food was really good. I went for something called Worth the Wait Beef Sandwich (and Ill tell you, it was worth the wait). The rest got a mixture of Fish & Chips, Shepherds Pie and Chicken Pie (yes, on different plates). All plates were cleared and the mini pints were flowing as the band continued playing. Wee Kelly even put on a wee Irish dance as the Rattling Bog was being sung, so a good night had by all. Rounded off the night with the drone show which was viewable five minutes away from Raglan Road. It consisted of different Disney Characters in flight, and was really well executed. Stan out for me what when the recreated the Death Star in Star Wars A New Hope, with the original voice lines from the film. So good and well be back again to see it no doubt. Pretty late by the time we dropped Pauline & co off and got back to the hotel.

Tomorrow is Star Wars Saturday - a day that has been 7 years in the planning and the main reason why we originally rescheduled our 2019 trip (which ended up being this year - thanks Covid). Look out, it’s going to be an emotional one.
